Interruption of regularly scheduled broadcasts for severe weather alerts is not controlled by our network, but is required by broadcast meteorologists, per FCC regulations. The National Weather Service (NWS) is tasked with providing weather forecasts, warnings of hazardous weather, and other weather-related information to organizations and the public for the purposes of protection, safety and general information.
